As regards the
remuneration of mui tsai, the
Governor has ascertained that the
general practice appears to be to
pay from 2 dollars to 3 dollars a
month, which is rather more than
the minimum fixed by the
Regulations. He has been asked
to report whether a higher minimum
not now,
might be fixed by Regulation.

10. With regard to the hours
of labour, the Female Domestic
Servants Ordinance provides that
no employer of a mai tsai shall
overwork her. If any mui tsai
are engaged in work outside the home,
they come under the general Hong
Kong legislation which limits
the hours of work of children in
industrial employment.
